Nathan McNeil
Athlete Bio
Nathan is a full-time dual-sport athlete with aspirations of earning a spot on the national team and competing at the 2030 Winter Olympics.
Before his injury, he was ranked No. 1 in Canada in Male Kata (karate). In his first season back — and without formal training — he returned directly to the national championships and placed second. He plans to compete in both karate and skiing during the 2025–26 season, including the February 2026 national championships, which overlap with the Nor-Am tour.
Nathan is a full-time student and works multiple roles, including coaching, working in a ski shop, freelance content creation, and serving as vice president of a martial arts club.
He is returning from a two-year injury hiatus following ACL reconstruction and double meniscus surgery. The experience strengthened his mindset, discipline, and understanding of training, and he reports strong progress since returning to snow.
His nickname is “Yuki,” his Japanese middle name meaning “snow,” and is widely used in both the karate and ski communities.
