The Kootenay Freestyle Classic (Panorama)

The Panorama Mountain Freeride Club proudly presents The Kootenay Freestyle Classic (KFC)!  KFC promises ‘buckets’ of fun!  Good times, great prizes and good friends in a celebration of the art of skiing and ski culture!

This event is open to all skiers ages 7-18.  The cut off is 100 athletes.

The KFC is sanctioned by BC Freestyle.  A Canadian Freestyle Membership is required by all participants.  If you are not a Canadian Freestyle Member, you can register at http://freestyleskibritishcolumbia.goalline.ca/event-search.php

Itinerary:

Friday March 16, 2018:

1-3pm The mogul course is open for training.  The Slopestyle course is open all day to the public.

Registration 8:30am-2pm and then 6-8pm at The Great Hall; Ski Tip lodge (Day Lodge): Bib/bag pick up, competitor bios and waivers.  You will also be able to purchase your lift tickets at this time at guest services.  Athlete’s must be registered and wearing a competitor’s bib to train.

Saturday March 17, 2018:  Registration will be open at 7:45am (please try to register on Friday)

Slopestyle Competition

  • 8:30am Mandatory – All Competitors Meeting (Great Hall)
  • 9-10:00 Course inspection – The course location will be announced at the meeting.
  • 10:00 Slopestyle start – Youngest to oldest (Ladies first)….
  • 4:00-6:00pm- Apres and Awards. Resort room TBD.  Tickets are $15 for athletes and $20 for adults.  This will be a fun event with food, pop and juice, cash bar, door prizes, silent auction, awards and more!

Moguls training open from 1-3pm

Sunday March 18, 2018: Registration will be open at 7:45am

Moguls Competition

  • 8:30am Mandatory – All Competitors Meeting (Great Hall)
  • 9:30-10:00 Course inspection on Rollercoaster (Champagne chair)
  • 10:00 Mogul Start – Youngest to Oldest (Ladies first)…
  • 4:00 Awards on the Great Hall Deck (weather dependent)

Additional Information:

Registration and Cost:  Entry fee is $60 per event or $90 for the whole weekend.  Tickets for Apres and Awards on Saturday 4pm are $15 for athletes and $20 for adults.  Registration is open now until March 12th, 2018.

Helmets are mandatory!
